I'm trying to conceive after having a tubal ligation (my tubes tied). I currently have 4 beautiful children, twins girls that are 7, and two boys ages 4 and 2.. I also have two step daughters.. I know I already have 6 and you must all think i'm crazy for even considering one more.. but I will tell you a little about my story and then maybe you might understand... My husband is not the father of my children (biologically) . When I was 16 I fell in love with my best friend... by 17 we were living together.. a few months later I was pregnant, at 18 weeks gestation I found out that I was having twins, and a few months after my 18th birthday.. I was a mommy... some would think this is a nice story.. boy meets girl.. they get married.. (which we didn't) have a baby.. (or in our case twins) and they live happily ever after... not so much in our case. Things became very difficult when my now ex acquired a drinking and gambling problem... instead of buying milk and diapers... the money would go to his two favourite activities.. he was so consumed in this lifestyle.. that he even lost his job.. leaving me working 3 jobs to make ends meet with our babies. After about a year and a half of this things slowly started to get better... He some how got a really great job as a financial adviser (believe it or not lol) The drinking stopped... and so did the gambeling... and then came Kiegan.. my oldest son... Kiegan was dreamed about.. but not expected at the this time by any means... still a true blessing non the less... he brings light to my life everday and I wouldn't trade him for anything! After Kiegan was born (a week after to be exact) my ex decided that he was going to go to LasVegas with his buddies.. on a "business trip" he called it... despite my constant protests and even though we had just had a baby... When he got back is when the drinking and gambling started again.. well i'm sure it started while he was there.. but you know what I mean... although this time it was much worse... he had even found ways to get free booze! By calling the companys and complaining.. and they would send him free voutures in the mail! This is also when the abuse got very severe... there was some before.. but nothing to the extent of how it was now... constant verbal abuse... punching me.. kicking me... choking me infront of the kids.. throwing food and furniture at me.. locking me outside in the cold for hours with no shoes in my pj's.. I could go on... Then he raped me... you would think that this would have been the final straw.. but once your in something like this.. you feel so stuck deep into that you can't get out... this is how my youngest son was conceived.. yes.. a product of the one man that I used to trust more then anything in the world not to hurt me... raping me. I had to have a csection with him.. so while they were doing delivering him.. I asked for the tubal to be done as well to prevent an event like this from happening again... When I look at my son now.. I don't see that... he brings so much joy to me.. but i guess you could say that image is still stuck in the back of my mind... i don't love him any less because of this... he is a much a part of me as my other children are... he's truly an amazing little boy.. and so smart! I just adore him... I adore all of my kids... So.. to make a long story short about a year after my youngest was born.. finally the last straw came for me... he hit me over the head with a beer bottle infront of the children... rendering me unconcious... the next thing I remember is waking up in the tub with blood surrounding me and the twins (then 5ish) screaming "Mommies dead Mommies dead! Daddy.. why did you do that?". Needless to say... the kids and I left.... with the help of a close friend (who is now my husband : ) ). My husband Rob and I were married 3 weeks ago... I've never been happier.. the kids are so happy... and they aren't affraid anymore now that their biological sperm donner as I like to call him lol.. isn't a part of their life anymore... he's sworn off all rights to my husband.. and we are getting ready to file the final addoption papers... but.. even though we are surrounded by all of this happiness I still feel like something is missing (is this selfish of me?). I want a baby with my husband.. the man I love... so much... in a way I feel like I was cheated out of the whole pregnancy experience.. even when my ex wasn't drinking he wasn't much help to me... even when I was having my csection... I was crying because I was an 18 year old girl and obviously scared... he whispered in my ear "shut up.. your embarrasing me" ... he actually even trashed my hospital room.. by throwing a plant a friend had bought for me across the room.. scattering dirt and flowers everywhere... he was never excited... and was never there for me... I want to share that experience so bad with Rob... I think about it constantly... I often get accused of if this happens that I'll probably love the baby more then the other kids and leave them out.. which I think is utterly rediculous... we will love them all just the same.. after all... it doesn't take dna to make a mommy or a daddy.. or a family for that matter... this is just an experience that I want to share with my husband... and something I feel like I need to fulfil in my life.... if that makes sense to any of you. This is my delema... like i said before when my youngest was born i had my tubes tied... The reversal surgery and IVF is very expensive.. and I feel that if we went those routes it would be taking money away from the children that I already have... does anyone know of any drugs.. hormones... vitamins.. etc.. to increase my chances of conceiving after having had this procedure done.. i know the chances will likely be slim to nil.. but there is always prayer and hope.. right? Posts: 2396 (07/03/09 12:49 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	it is impossible to get pregnant after a tubal unless you get it reversed or have IVF. some tubals are done by clamping the tubes so in this case if this is what was done you could have them removed. Posts: 141 (07/08/09 2:46 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	my sister had them re-attached after they were cut and caughterized however u spell that... she got pregnant but had a m/c... she didnt know she was pregnant and she was taking very harmful meds and she is also 36 so i dont know what exactly caused her to m/c...all we know is that she can get pregnant after that reversal and thats all she cares 4.
